The Bernina Elasticator Foot

The BERNINA Elasticator is a useful helper when stitching on elastic. The foot can accommodate elastic widths of  5-12mm (approx. ¼” to ½”). The Elasticator’s special roller applies constant tension to the elastic, stretching it as it is serged into the seam. The adjusting screw provides for infinitely variable adjustment of the amount of stretch. In addition, a built-in guide ensures precise, wrinkle-free feeding of the material, enabling the elastic to be stitched precisely into home furnishings, swimwear, and sportswear. The elasticator is also ideal for constructing professional quality lingerie.
